Bringing in the New Year!

Last year David, Dahlia and I hiked up Fall Mountain. This time we went to the Greendale campground in the Green Mountain National Forest to go hiking. Well, strike that. We TRIED to get there but the last mile leading up to the campground was all ice and snow. So we parked off the road and walked the mile to the campground, puttered around the area, and then turned around and came back. Not 100% satisfying, but still fun! And picture worthy.

Dahlia...do you want to go hiking?

The road up. Prior to this it was just dirt and mud. You can see why we decided to not drive any further!

Again I point out how ridiculous Dahlia looks without the big pantaloons in back. I am NEVER EVER going to trim them so drastically!

What ya waitin' for guys?

And then Dahlia got the zoomies and ran around a lot. She was in and out of the woods and we had to keep calling her back to us because we could no longer see her. I didn't get a lot of good pictures of her because the light was starting to fade and she was moving too fast. This was near the end of her running around.

Dahlia looks so serious in so many of these pics! Love it. The woods are SRS BIZNEZ.

I think she was sort of running through the snow and something caught her attention so she drew herself up short. It was a great moment.

I would say "glad we have no snow here" because we haven't (this was up in the mountains of Vermont; where David's parents were they had no snow and in Syracuse we don't either)...but we're expecting 6-10 inches tonight. *sigh* So much for our awesome nearly snowless winter! I guess it had to end sometime.

I don't think anything looks more amazing than woodland in the snow and I LOVE snowy roads to drive on - well until we get stuck or something lol.
Ahh, she's such a pretty girl :-)

I don't mind the snow, but these were mostly ice with some snow on the edges of the road. Definitely not something we were willing to drive up just for fun, especially with fairly big ravines on the side at points!
